Title: Error message
Post by: geobcon on October 11, 2008, 11:57:43 AM
In July, I purchased and downloaded on line Turbo FLOORPLAN home and interior
Ver: 12.00.C1.551. I created a home expansion plan with 3D views and detailed dimensions.
I can no longer access the information and am getting the folowing error messages:
1) "unable to access the requested template file. The file may be in use or you may not have sufficient access rights."
and 2) "C:users\allusers\applicationdata|IMSIDesign\TurboFloor plan Home & Interior\catalogs\TurboFloorPlanmaster catalog.bdb may
be in use or you do not have access rights. Please check with your local administrator."
I'm running a Vista Home Premium platform with 4gb of memory and a 64bit operating system.
Has anyone had the similar message responses and were they able to recover their data?
If so, how did you accomplish this?

Thanks in advance,

geobcon

Hi,  Welcome to the Forum.

I thought I had recalled a previous query along this line, so did a Search on "error message" and there were a few similar but not quite the same. It sounds to me that maybe there has been some file system changes on your PC that has affected the TFP folders and it cannot find the the file with the Templates and the Master Catalog.  It needs both of these to be able to start up.

How are you trying to start it?  Does it work if you double click the original file?  This should bypass the Template problem as it would not need the template in that case. You may however still have to locate the Master Catalog.  I notice that you are not using the Pro version, so yours may be different, but I noticed that the file name you have quoted for the catalog is different to mine - mine has an underscore in it (TurboFLOORPLAN_Master Catalog.bdb).

I would try doing a search on your PC just to confirm that these folders are still where TFP thinks they are. If the program will still open and you can get to the Settings / Program Settings menu (General tab), then you should be able to Modify the File Paths for the Templates directory and the Catalogs directory and everything should be back to normal. If you can open it but the Settings menu is not available then try File / Open Samples. This may get it open enough to have the Settings menu available.

I am not really a technical person and some others may be able to comment too but maybe some of the above will help.

By the way, when you get it working again, you will notice the is an update available for the Pro version and I think for Interiors too.
