I just purchased TurboFLoorPLan and was not able to:
1) Include the Area calculation onto the floor plan
2) Print the plan on a full sheet of paper-it will only print at about 1/4 the size we want
3) Include dimensions on the plan that are rounded to the nearest inch rather than fractions of an inch
4) Print dimensions in black
Can anyone tell me how to do these things?

Most of you questions have previously been answered so I have just used the Search to highlight some of the previous answers.
1) Area Calculation: Unfortunately it does not do this automatically but if you Search on Area you will find a few suggestions that might help. It will calculate the area of each Location (Tools menu, Calculate/Estimate then Area/Perimeter) but that is the whole floor - it does not help much for rooms. You could create a new location and trace the room you want and view the calculation, then do the same for the next room but that is messy. A request has been put in to make this available - it was in the previous version! Once you have the calculation you can add the text to the plan (see item 4)

3) Rounding Dimensions: Menu option: Settings/Program Settings/Units of Measure (see the image)

One of the secrets with TFP is to keep double clicking on things (as in 4 above) - you will be surprised what opens up!

A tip to try on printing.
First get a pdf print program. Some people use PDF 995, I currently like Desk PDF by Docudesk , http://www.docudesk.com/
Calculate the ratio of the sheet you want to print to. For instance 24 x 36 (Arch D) = .666 if you divide 24 by 36.
8 1/2 x 11 = .772
Now activate the Commander (in Settings / Toobars/ Workspace (check Commander). This will give you a lower 'box' to enter a dimension. Also activate the 'Layout' tab in Settings under Toolbars. Change the setting of Layout tab from OFF to Tabbed.
You can now do some math using the ratio of width and height that you want to print to. Then use the Layout tab and draw a rectangle around the area you want to print. I would assume this would be a full plan. Use the dimension tools in Layout tab to 'size the rectangle' to the ratio you need and place the rectangle around the area to print. So if my plan was large, maybe I would need a width for the rectangle at 120' to enclose the whole plan width. I want to print to Arch D so I multiply 120 x 0.6666 and get about 80'. I use the dimension tools to size the rectangle to 120' x 80' which is the same ratio as 24 x 36 sheet.
Now go to print, select PDF, set various options like landscape, Arch D (or your paper size), print to black and then on the first page of the print option select Window and the 'Window box' next to the word Window.
Click on the top left and bottom right corners of the ratio rectangle you made and then select 'fit to page' and 'center on paper'. When you print the area to print should now fill the page size you are printing to. I would also hope it would be to scale.
To make sure your lines are dark, check 'Show Line Weights' in Workspace of the Settings tab.

I don't know of any other method for areas in TFPlan. The full version of Envisioneer address both area and printing (along with many other things). In Envisioneer you have the option of Regions by pick point or by Room and you can automatically display Area , Perimeter and Volume. Because TFP is so cheap, they have left some features out.

I suspected that was the case but thought it was worth asking if you knew any secret way to do it. Again it is not something I use, but the question does come up from time to time. Maybe they will add it sometime (without putting the price up!). Actually it is ridiculously cheap as it is so maybe they should put the price up!
Well, the first day of the new year has gone already (for us here - just starting for you). I wonder what 2009 will bring? Forget the financial worries - Envisioneer 5 (Feb?) then hopefully a new version of TFP.

I use on extra plan I call Area then I add i wall i also call Area width 1 mm. floor level underground so it not interfere whit the roof.
To measure area in a room it is only to duplicate surrounded walls to area location and replace the wall with area wall, you now have a wall that you can adjust if you will have accurate measurement, if not you got the center of the original wall.
Now you can measure each room separated or the total living-area for each level.
