i have been trying to alter the thickness of a counter top, each time i put in a new size it reverts back to the original size. help please. i made a counter top out of the floor element but found when i dropped a sink into it the sink just filled up wih floor. any way i can get round it.
You can increase the counter thickness to only 24mm (1 inch) - go 1 mm more and it snaps back to 19mm. You can also increase the height of the nosing (which may be what you actually want as you do not see the counter top thickness really because of the nosing), but this will only increase to 60mm (about 2 1/4 inch).
If you want more than this, then you could put another counter top only, on top of the cabinet with its own top. As a counter top only, the nosing can be set to 80mm so 80 + 60 gives you 140mm (nearly 6 inches). The counter top will accept a sink but you will have to put one in the cabinet as well to cut the hole (otherwise you will see the top inside the sink) You could set the cabinet top to water and it then looks like water in the sink - quite effective actually! If necessary put the cabinet on a different location and then you can turn off the plumbing to get rid of the second sink (if it shows - may not depending on which you use).
