Hi, this is my very first post. I just installed ver. 14. I have a file started in ver.11 and need to open it in ver.14. There doesn't appear to be anything about doing this in the documentation. Can this be done or are all my ver. 10 and 11 files no longer available to me? Thanks for the help!

Sorry but the bad news is that the V14 models will have to be a "new creation"! The was earlier mention of a bridge between the two but I suspect that there are too many differences, especially in the walls - they are dramatically more advanced.
You can export your old plan as a 2D DXF file, import it to a trace location and trace it.
You will find V14 has advanced a long way. I have not touched V11 since.

Hi Allen Thanks for the response. I will start over and probably learn some good things along the way. One more question, in ver. 11 I was not able to draw an independent partition wall and still have it relate to the surrounding objects. Is this possible in v.14?
Sorry but I don't quite know what you mean by "an independent partition wall ". If you mean just a free standing wall not connected to any others, then yes that is certainly possible but it was in V11 wasn't it? (can't rememeber now - its been too long!) I know in V11 that a short wall would still cut a hole in the ceiling - that does not happen in TFP. Ceiling is not automatically inserted, you add it in (just one click). Walls are much more flexible and the can be moved as a group, rotated, mirrored, copied elsewhere, sloped (top and or bottom), resized after they are inserted, auto extend to the roof or not etc, etc , etc. Walls have 5 surfaces Right side, lLeft side (from the direction your draw them - marked by a green dot - start and red dot - end), they have an Edge and an Opening and if walls join to make a room, the outside of them becomes an Exterior surface. There are settings for each of these and Trim too. Very different from V11 but just as easy to handle.

Sorry to say but v11 became obsolete. Strating with V12(and now 14) the products have completely seperate codebases.
In addition it was not feasible to write any type of translator.
However you can import a JPG or BMP of your plans. Then scale it and use it as a tracing layer.
Not ideal but would be a great time saver.
also good to note tho is ver. 12 files do open OK in ver. 14 but have been reported as maybe needing some minor adjustments and/or may be noticeably slower in ver. 14 as compared to the same design created all in ver. 14.
