Title: TurboFloorplan Pro 12
Post by: scott on April 30, 2009, 10:20:08 AM
Hi

I have two issues with TurboFloorplan 12 Pro, TurboFloorplan 12 Pro is running under Windows Vista.

1. Whenever the program is exited the message 'Unable to access requested doc' 'default.dmu' appears and the program stops running - Windows Vista tries to find out why but fails.

2. If a door in an external wall in elevated by a negative amount.

In 3D view the door when selected is correctly outlined (i.e. all panels etc are shown in blue lines) in the lowered position but when not selected the chosen appearance i.e. colour does not run into the lowered section, a white band is shown instead.

The latest update has been installed for the TurboFloorplan 12 Pro software and I believe the latest graphics drivers are installed.

If anyone can help then that would be great.

Hi Scott,

What do you mean by the term "when the program is excited"?  I have not heard the expression before so I don't quite know what you mean.  It obviously starts OK as you are able to insert doors.

On the door issue, can you post an image?  The white band could be the floor edge with no texture since you are lowering the door through the floor.  Why do you need to lower the door?  What happens when you right click "flip Opening"? An image would help to identify it.

Sorry the reply is all questions!

He said "exited", not "excited", that is, to exit or terminate the program...

He did too!!  I have put my glasses on now!  Here was me thinking I had come across a new piece of computer jargon!!   Welcome to the Forum by the way.

Scott - even though I am seeing straight it does not help unfortunately. I did a search on both of my computers and neither can up with a file using a DMU extension.  Google did come up with a few things not apparently related to TFP.

One said:
"Windows cannot open DMU files?
If Windows is unable to open file extension .DMU you may have registry related errors or may not have the appropriate program installed. We strongly recommend that you run a free registry scan.
Appropriate program:
DMU is a file extension associated with Digital Mugician Song/Module. Incorrect associations are the cause of many file extension errors. Scan your system to prevent, identify and repair DMU file extension association errors." http://www.liutilities.com/products/winbackup/filextlibrary/files/DMU/ (http://www.liutilities.com/products/winbackup/filextlibrary/files/DMU/)

I am not a technical person (even if I do make up technical jargon!), so it does not mean much to me. Maybe somehow an association has been made between TFP and a DMU file somehow. Anyway hopefully the above may help or other Google search results.

The more I think about it I suspect the door problem is the floor.  If the door is below floor level then you would logically have some cutout in the floor anyway, so you could use the right click 'Cut Opening' option to cut out a bit a floor inside the door, or delete it and add a new one using Floor By Picking Points and cut out around the door that way.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try that and see what happens.

Scott:

I was having a similar problem with the updated v12.  My error message was: "Unable to access the requested document.  The file may be in use or you may not have sufficient access rights. (defaut.mru)" and then Win Vista would stop working.  I called IMSI and they sent me a link to a consolidated TurboFLOORPLAN exe. file that had updates embedded.  That fixed the problem, though the resulting program was not updated to as high a version as the version shown when you download the update patch on the IMSI site.  Nonetheless, I'm happy.

You might give them a call.
