I just installed Turbo FLOORPLAN Home and Landscape PRO v12. I've downloaded the latest patch to the program and my version reads 12.01.C2.586.
I'm working through the "Getting Started Guide" and I'm seeing some differences between what I'm reading in the Guide and what I'm seeing onscreen. For example, when adding an interior wall, the Guide indicates the program has 4 options for Interior Walls - 2 x 4 Wood Framed Wall, 2 x 6 Wood Framed Wall, 3-5/8" Steel Framed Wall and 6" Steel Framed Wall - while the program only has the 2 options of 4" Wood Wall and 6" Wood Wall. The Guide's options for walls is much more useful and certainly more intuitively obvious than the program's, but I'll come back to this issue some other time. The bigger issue is an apparent bug.
The Guide introduces you to the program by having you build a simple house with a small deck and limited landscape, and I've done that. It Guide then goes on to review some calculation tools, including the Generate Project Estimate. However, my Generate Project Estimate comes up empty in both the Quantity Report and Cut List. It's disappointing to run into a problem this early in the game; can anybody suggest what the problem is here and how to get Generate Project Estimate working "as advertised?"

Did you try the Project Estimates before you applied the patch? The reason I ask is that I am running the same version as you, with the patch (12.01.C2.586) and the Estimates do not work as you have found. I am also running, on another PC, the original version 12.00.C.551 and the Estimates work fine on that. I have not used the estimates much other then see what they did, and obviously did not try them after applying the patch. Looks a bit like it may have broken them. I do not recall what the patch did but I did not see the need to install it on the original PC, so you may like to try re-installing the program and not applying the patch and see if they work. The program has moved on now to V14 so there would likely not be any fixes for it now but it may be worth call Support about it in case there is a fix.
The situation with the walls does not make much sense. You should have many walls to choose from within 4 sections. Maybe you could post a screen print so we can see what you see. My V12 with the patch has 20 different types in the 4 sections (Exterior, Interior, Fountation and Shed Builder). V14 has the same. When you installed there would have been two catalogs (Imperial and Metric) . If you go to Files/Catalog you can change to the other catalog - try it and see if there are more there. You may not find it convenient however to work with measurements you are not used to. You can easily create as many different wall types as you want, simply by right clicking one of the walls in the catalog list and select Add Element. You can then use the wall Properties dialog box to create the wall type that you want.

Hello Allen, and thank your for your help.
As far as my first attempt to generate a Quantity Report goes, I can't really remember if it was before or after the installation of the patch. However, because of continuing problems I was having (I was unable to exit the program gracefully) that weren't fixed by a couple of attempts to uninstall/install/update the program, I called IMSI and they emailed me a link to a "consolidated" executable that has the update embedded in it. The executable results in a version of 12.00.C1.551 and the Quantity Report works!
The updated version still only has 2 interior wall types as shown in the attached screen shot. Included with the link to the consolidated executable for TurboFLOORPLAN was another link to a file called TurboFLOORPLAN-Home-Landscape-Pro-Extras.exe. The IMSI rep I spoke to cautioned me not to load all the extras at once because that could cause the program to crash, but I didn't think to ask him what the "extras" were. Maybe additions to the catalog, like additional walls?

Glad to hear that you have the estimstes working now.
All my versions only have 2 interior walls also but you presumably have other walls under the other 3 wall sections.
To be honest I have never used any of the Interior walls. I cant see any need for them when the Exterior walls automatically become Interior if they are inside the outer perimeter of the building. Essentially walls are just two surfaces with edges. If you use an exterior wall it will have Interior only properties until you connect 4 walls together to form a room - then the outside perimeter takes on the pre-defined Exterior properties (so basedboard, crown moulding etc disappear and the Exterior texture appears). So Exterior walls take on both functions without having to switch types while you are drawing - just draw the whole lot in one go and the program will apply the exterior surface where necessary.
If you have something unusual then define it yourself making sure you select the correct wall type so that the Materials list takes case of the construction materials. Internal framing etc is turned off by default but you can turn the framing on and wall surfaces off so you can see the framing if you want in the Filter.
