Title: how to render as .jpg !!
Post by: Doug.S on October 12, 2007, 01:30:35 PM
OK so we all know that TFP12 render to save as .jpg does not work

But you want a .jpg file to save hard disk space or to easily email.

After the file is rendered to .bmp  simply change the file name from .bmp to .jpg (ignore the windows warning).

OK so its really still a .bmp file, BUT you can now use other programs (such as Microsoft plug-in to "re-size pictures" with a file right-click menu choice) to easily change the file to a small size for emails etc. and the quality stays very good.  (MS plug-in is free as a windows tweakui power toy add-on:  "ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe").

Example: file can easily be 10x smaller as a .jpg

Hi,

Obviously you can just use the standard Windows Photo Editor or Paint, you don't actually need any new plugins or shareware programs.

Photo Editor can Resize and Save As .jpg, allowing you to change the compression ratio (quality factor).

Paint can Resize (Stretch) and Save As .jpg - Paint is useful if you want to annotate with text, arrows etc, to clarify your post.
Also useful for saving Screenshots via PrtSc or Alt/PrtSc and Paste, and annotating for mini tutorials, etc.
