Hi, see attached. I need to elevate the roof of the kitchen to match my current house configuration (see actual house picture, the kitchen is on the right side, on a concrete slab). I'm struggling with this for days now. ???

The roof cannot be elevated as such. It sits at the height of the walls according to the Location it is on. The only way to rraise the roof is to raise the Location itself. The problem with that is that the foundation is on the same location so it will raise by 4' too.
Basically the lines on your image show how you should have the locations set up. I have added a copy to illustrate it, guessing at some of your dimensions.
Usually Terrain should be zero and everything is calculated from there. So your Foundations Location should be about -3' going by the lines on your photo, with an 8 ' ceiling. The Kitchen should have a floor level of the floor thickness above the Terrain (say 1') also with 8' wall and ceiling. The Chambre should also be on its own location and that part of the roof should sit on it.
You may no have to start again to get it right - try the folowing on a copy:
1. Create a new location called Kitchen for example with a floor level at about 1', wall and ceiling 8'.
2. Select Foundation location, Select everthing and right click> Duplicate to Location and Select Kitchen.
(You will now have two copies of the this part of the building, one at the higher level, so you need to delete bits of both)
3. Go to the Foundation Location settings and change the floor level to -3', then in plan view delete all the Kitchen walls and roof etc.
4. Go to Kitchen Location and delete all the Foundation walls/ floor ceiling etc. You will also have to put the walls back down to floor level as they are elevated by 4' at present and set them to Extend to Roof.
5. Change the existing Chambre Location to make a floor level about 5' + floor thickness, wall should be about 4' and the ceiling 4' but set to Tray to give you the flat section.
6. Add a roof to the Chambre with extended overhang on the side away from the Kitchen.
7. Set Terrain back to zero.
Hope that is all clear and you can follow it. Sounds messy but not really when you get it all in mind what is happening. Hopefully the image will help.

Haaaa! It makes sense: 2 locations since the kitchen is an addition by itself. Will follow your instructions and let you know.

Yes, you actually had it right with the lines on your photo but obviously just did not connect that to the Locations in TFP.

Everything I'm trying is turning weird. I've also started from scratch but no luck. Geeezzz. That must be simple: the original part of the house (34x22) looks good in all aspects, I just want to connect the kitchen (20x20) to the long side of the house and connect both roofs together. The kitchen is on a concrete slab 4' above the basement slab.
I've been trying to follow your guidelines but I'm not going anywhere. I'm lacking some of the skills for this software obviously. I'm unable to move the kitchen slab to where it should go.
Will try again, I'm only 12 months before the beginning of the works here :)

You need to get the Location settings right. May be easiest to start a new one and get your three level rights first, Basement, Kitchen and Chambre with the Terrain as the zero level.
Your Kitchen is 4' above the basement but set the floor level for it at 1' or whatever it is above the Terrain and the basement at whatever it is below the terrain. Similarly set the floor level of the Chambre from the Terrain. They are your three levels of the top of the three floors on which the walls are built. The floor itself is below that level.
Don't know whether that helps or not.

Just a quick follow-up, my project is going well now, thanks for your clear instructions. I was misunderstanding the concept of "locations", that was it. The help system is also very instructive, I refer to it a lot. I will post some drawings once I'm done -or stuck- with it soon.
