Title: Version confusion
Post by: reismith on October 04, 2009, 10:29:34 AM
I just purchased TurboFloorplan Home & Landscape Pro and received v12 (12.00.C1.551). But on this forum I see mention of a version 14. Did I get ripped off? Are there any patches for v12? I could only find v14 patches.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

v14 is the current version with the patch taking it to release 662. There are probably still patches on the IMSI Design website but it will still be V12 of course. There was no V13. If you bought it from a shop in good faith that it was the latest then you may be able to do a deal with them. There are not any major differences but I would certainly be trying to get the latest if you can. Some of the shops here are still selling V11 !!

Is the latest update (build 662) compatible with the Australia and New Zealand edition - version 14.0 c1.637 or does it overwrite it?

Hi Ray.

As far as I know the Australian version is only different in the catalogue. If you note where the catalogue is located on your PC (Settings/Program Settings/ general) and change its name slightly (it is different anyway I think) then you can connect back to it again after if necessary (File/Catalogue).

Can't remember now but I don't think the update changed my catalogue. Make a backup anyway, (regularly if you are adding items or modifying them) just in case.

I find references to versions, updates, releases & builds very confusing. Last week I bought & downloaded Version 14. If I look at Help>About when running the program it calls it 14.00.C.624. Does this mean it is release 624 or build 624 or neither? If as I suspect it means build 624 then why does this site say (elsewhere) the latest build or update for version 14 is 662? I only downloaded it last week so surely this must be the latest version or update or release or build or whatever it is called?

All of the updates can be found on this page:

http://www.imsidesign.com/Support/TurboFLOORPLANSupport/tabid/515/Default.aspx (http://www.imsidesign.com/Support/TurboFLOORPLANSupport/tabid/515/Default.aspx)

With regard to v14 build 662 the build team tested and released to me a build that goes from 637 to 662 and inadvertantly neglected to test going from 624 to 662
at that time.   So rather than having to go all the way back thru the testing they instead created a second patch for users still running 624 to get them to 662.
Sorry for the confusion this may have caused.

With regard to the AU/NZ builds Allan is corrrect there is a unique build managed by Mindscape Australia (our South Pacific resell/partner)
Typically they are about a month behind the US builds in terms of releases and updates.
I looked on their site for TFP patches but didn't find anything.  So  I have written them to ask for the link.

Hi Guy's

We have the 637 build here.  We also have the same version( Not build) as the US.  The only difference is that when you choose the metric settings you the Australian and NZ catalog will appear.
You should be able to download the patches from the US web site to update your version even if it is the Australian version.
With our downloads at the moment we only have the original version - I have not set up any updates as yet.  We are planning to do this soon.
Frank - if you don't want to download the patch I'm more than happy to burn this for you and send it out - email me direct.
Any questions about our version feel free to email me direct.  [email protected]

thanks Natalie
