How to see the height of all electrical outputs at the same time?

Hello,

I've added some electrical outputs at different heights, on the same wall. I can view the height of each output through "properties". Is there a way to see the heights of all the electrical outputs on the wall at the same time without accessing properties everytime?


Also, Is there a way to view each wall from the front? as if i'm satnding in the room and looking at the wall?

Yes, for both questions  

Please follow the explanation with the image attached

Using the Section View Tool (outlined in red, at the bottom of the image) create a section visualizing the wall where you placed the outlets. You can select two or more elements at same time pressing the Shift key in your keyboard while you are selecting--> then right click--> Elevate--> write the desired elevation--> OK--> all the selected elements will be elevated at the same height as per your specs
Of course, you can select multiple elements and elevate them also in 2D (floorplan), however, the method I described above is usefull if you wish the change the elevations and visualize the changes at the same time

Hi Katy,

If you want to set them all the same then as Pat said the Elevate will do the trick instantly. If you intentionally have different heights and just want to see them all at the same time then I can't think of a way to do it, although you could use Jack's Measuring Stick (http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,1068.0.html).  Just drag it along from one outlet to the other to read the heights but it would be just as easy to use the Properties as you do (or Elevate - if would be just one click).  The Measuring Stick is more for stacking things on top of each other.

As you can see from Pat's image the Sections tool will show you the whole wall in a 2D format. Another option, if you want to see it in 3D, is to use the Dynamic Cutaway (Two icons to the left of the Section tool). Just position the camera outside, from the angle you want (eg the Front - that will show the front of the house from outside), then use the Dynamic Cutaway and select Front and as you drag the slider it will remove the terrain in front of the house then the front wall etc - just stop when you see the wall you want. This will give you a 3D view without the front wall in the way.

I have another question...

Can i somehow give a number to each electrical output? for example:
electrical output no.1 , no.2 etc... and see all these numbers when i look at the wall at the same time?
If i can do this, then i can create a table which says where exactly each output is located, and i can use the table together with the drawing that has numbered electrical outputs and show them to the electrician who will install the outputs.

Hi Katy,

You can give a number and add any amount of text or instructions etc on the 2D plan by using the Layout Toolbar. It may be turned off - if so go to Settings/ Toolbars and turn it on. You have straight and curved line tools and text with an arrow or without. You can also use the Annotation toolbar (may also be off) to add special dimensions onto the 2D plan.

You could number your outlets on the plan using the text tool and you could make up a list alongside of the details of each.

If you have an unusual combinations of heights then you could do a Section view as Pat described earlier, File/Export it as a 2D Drawing and then import it into a new model. Doing this will allow you to use the dimensions tool to add vertical dimensions and explanatory text if necessary. You could also export the plan view and import it again into the same new model and you could then print the plan and elevations with all your text, dimensions etc on one sheet of paper.  You will find a full PDF tutorial how to do this at http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,877.0.html.
