Ghost lines

When I delete or move and item such as a bed or sink or other furniture or appliance the original outline lightens up but down no go completely away. I've tried saving and reopening but that did not help.
Any ideas.

Hi Rich,
Welcome to the Forum.

To me it sounds like you have accidently (or intentionally and forgotten about it) duplicated these objects to another location.

If you right click on most elements you have the option to Duplicate it. If you do that and do not drag the duplicate away for the original, then you actually have two of the objects in the same space.  However, if this is what you had done, the second one would still appear as dark as the original. If instead you had right clicked and selected 'Duplicate to Locations', then the duplicated objects would be on the second Location (eg your Second Floor). In this situation the would appear greyed out.

Select the Second Floor - or which ever they had been duplicated to and you can then delete them if you do not want them anymore.

If that does not find them, then go to the View Filter and click the Eye icons to turn off the Walls, Ceiling and Roof and you will then see these objects in the 3D view and you can delete them from there.

This is the only way I can think of that you would get greyed out objects.

Your idea Allan was apparently correct. I have a second floor and must have duplicated the ground floor by mistake. I was able to remove the "ghost lines" on the ground floor by deleting the items on the second floor. Thank you for the help. Any suggestion on how delete the second floor?

Hi Rich,

You don't have to delete the second floor as such (it is always there by default).  Just select eveything by draging the mouse over it all and press the delete key.  If you want to delete the location itself, you can go to Settings/ Building Locations, select the location and use the Delete Location button.

To post a screen shot (if you are using Vista or Windows 7) go to Start/ All Program/ Accessories / Snipping Tool.  You can then just draw a line around the area of the screen you want to capture and save it as an image. If you have XP or earlier, you will have to press the Print Screen key on your keyboard and paste the captured image into Paint or some other Image editing program and save it from there.

To post the images on the forum just click the "Additional Options" link on the lower left of the test edit area.

Just in case, I am posting how to create a screenshot and how to post it here

How to create a screenshot: set the screen allowing a good resolution and detailed view of the issue or problem or the items you wish to allow--> press Print Screen--> open MS Paint or other graphic program--> Paste --> Save as (jpg, bmp, etc)

How to post the image--> at the left of the post (while you are writting)--> Additional options --> Attach--> browse your image in your computer--> post
