Wall Section

Is this program able to show a cut away "Wall Section".


On the "wall section" I am referring to a wall section as you would include in a set of typical house plans.  Sometimes call a "Detailed Wall Section" - it would show foundation, basement, floor joists, first floor, ceiling, roof rafters, etc. all the way up to the roof.

Hi Gary,

Use the Section button - to the right of the Elevations button, or you can use the Dynamic Cuttaway (fascinating to use) on the left of the Elevations button.

Could you give more details on how to do it?

When I click on the Section button - says "create new section" - then what?  I was able to pick a location or anything.

Are you able to PRINT these wall sections?

Are you able to PRINT the "Dynamic Cuttaway" views?

Hi Garry,

All you do is click each side of your model where you want the section to be and drag the mouse in the direction you want to look and as far as you want to look. Drag beyond the end of the buildimg if you want to see everything in that direction.

You can also use the section tool to do Kitchen and Bath Elevations. Once you get the section 'in view' zoom into the area containing just the portion of section you want. The attached is from the more advance Envsioneer program which allows you to place such sections on a sheet view indivdually.

If you don't have Envisioneer, you can still save the screen images to a paint program via pdf or screenshot...or what I have done is use as a background page in "Visio" (a vector program with scale and dimensioning)...scale, and place dimensions on the next upper layer and save that image to pdf or print or whatever use needed.

In other words, if you can't get what you want directly via TFP, you can improvise and usually get what you need.

Hi All! Then it come to vector program I have found that Open Office Draw is a very good program to use and the best it's free and with the right plugins you make it  to very compentent lotech "cad" program.
