Roof Cape Cod

On the attached files, how do you adjust the roof - mainly in the back?

I want 12/12 in the front with no wall & 6/12 in the back with a 8' in the back.

Also, how do you move the ridge line?

I have spent many hours trying different ways and it has never come out right.

PLEASE WALK ME THROUGH IT STEP BY STEP.

Hi Garry! First it looks like you use TFP 14 so I cant send you a bld-file back tp you, I have TFP 15, but no matter the tools in programs work same way so I add some screen shots instead.

I will begin with the ridge line, it will adjust automatic after your angels of the roof the roles of Pythagoras,(the red dotted line in the front image), no matter what Horiz. distance (f) you set it will be a fix in this case.
Now shall we adjust the you slope value to 12/12 in back and 6/12 in front
What you need is in the back set the support height to 8' the program have set it to the ground Floor 2 3/8".
Make sure it only the arrow for the roof at back is green all other shall be red, that is all you need to to do with the back.

Now to the front there you can let the support height be 2 3/8" or set little higher 10" to 1' this will change the ridge, but to change the sloop you must change the thickness of the roof (b) I have sett it to 10" but you can try other, I think this parameter is depending of the slope value, to thin and the roof will collapse.

I wonder abut the roof-typ it is a Cap Cod -roof it sems to me this is more a "Saltbox- typ of roof lock her http://www.realtor.org/rmoarchitecture_guide/residentialstyles

And yes you are right - this is really a "saltbox" style.
