"break" command/tool

From reading other users info and looking about the help file (help seems well organized), I'm discovering a whole new world/capability to modify stuff....starting with walls and roofs as I try to construct a roof I want (not successful as yet tho).

So, suggesting to others to right click and try "break" if you need to revise a design.

But I can't offer any help as yet....but if anyone has any experience with 'break', especially for a roof, any words of wisdom are appreciated.  I don't even know what to ask yet....I'm just experimenting and discovering this tool.
