Rotating 45 degrees - cabinets

I am working on a kitchen plan and trying to rotate base cabinets to a 45 deg. angle from the wall - they are going to be for an island. 
They are several feet (5' plus) from the wall.

It keeps rotating to 90 degrees - any help?

For future use how do you rotate other items as well - walls, etc.?

most likely you have snap to angle and/or "ortho" turned "on"...which restricts your movement of objects  (see help file if needed)

Look at bottom right of screen, click to turn either or both on/off (button)

Ortho = orthographic = forces everything to be at 90 degrees; just what you usually want as default for walls

Snap to angles probably OK if set to allow 45 degrees

Check program settings to change details/defaults

But feel free to turn stuff on/off as needed.
