size change vs. import xis alignment

This is a tip if you see this issue...
You try to change the size of an object (most likely something you imported; not TFP default catalog item); but it does not change as you expect.
For example, you change the x axis size and it changes, but also the y axis changes too....and you have check box for "uniform scale" unchecked.  I found this because I opened/imported .skp files for some rocks (but it could be any file).

The "problem" is that the object as imported is not "square" to the x,y axes.  (If you also have an elevation/position problem; could be the object bottom center was not saved at 0,0,0).

The "fix", if an .skp file; open the .skp in SU and orient and center object in the scene, re-save as .skp. Then import the "fixed" .skp file and all is well; works as expected.

If not .skp, either get to the source or export from TFP and adjust in another 3D program such as SU, then re-import back to TFP.

Of course this is also an opportunity to change any object's orientation before you import to TFP; if you wish...rather than spend time in TFP trying to orient (especially since rotation does not go negative and you can't insert a specific value, you must "spin" via arrow buttons).
