I have play around with the negative pad (Terrain-tool) and a brick edging made garden art on a empty terrain then hide the pad and terrain with the view filter, after that export the result as gardenart3ds.

I a new project import the gardenart.3ds to the catalog the change the x,y,z axis so the result been as in image.
