Cannot effect "Select" function per numerous HELP manual directions

Anybody:
Using TurboFloorPlan Home & Landscape Pro v16.0.C1.901
I've somehow created a ceiling in a single story building that has two sets of joist running perpendicular to each other!!  It is a simple 20' x 30' foot building with a 2"x 6"x8' frame with a hip roof on a slab foundation.
I am unable to "select" and/or don't quite understand how to use select correctly to eliminate/remove the unwanted floor joist system.
No amount of pointing and clicking on the ceiling joists (per HELP advice), in any view, brings up properties to allow subsequently deleting it?  I am used to....i.e in 2d with creating(ed) walls pointing to the object....it being somehow highlighted....them right clicking for a drop down menu to appear.....and finally using the delete command to remove the object.  Without being able to select the object/element? I want to work with I am at a stand still.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I am looking to try to get a materials list out for this project asap.
My apologies for bothering with something (probably) quite trivial.  I am pressed for time and have spent a fair amount of effort trying to resolve the issue on my own through HELP.

Hi Victor,

Welcome to the forum!

You should be able to select the ceilings in 2D Designers View and in 3D View. In Plan view you have to zoom in close the select the dashed line around the edge of the walls. Once you have selected you can right click Delete or simply press the delete key on your keyboard.

If you still cannot select them, there are a couple of possibilities:

You presumably have Framing turned on - you cannot select some things with framing on. You cannot actually select the framing. Turn framing off and select one of the ceilings (sounds like you have two in the same space) nad press the Delete key.

On the View Filter you may have accidentally clicked the Filter icon next to Ceilings which prevents them being selected accidentally. It should be pale orange not white.

There is a possibility you may have a computer video card issue. This can generally be proved by going to Settings/ Program Settings / Graphics and turning off Hardware Acelleration. If it works then you may need to update your video card driver - but I would check the other things before worrying about that.

As far as I know, every object inserted into a drawing can be selected later and deleted (usually just select and hit delete key)

I assume you are trying to select a set of joists (not just one joist in a set; which cannot be done).

Sounds like you have inserted 2 floors or ceilings in same place?

Sometimes it is difficult to select the exact object because other objects are "in front" of and cover the one you want to select.
There are 2 approaches:
- orient your view (usually 3D) in such a way as to isolate other items away from being in front of your desired item.
- use view filter to temporarily hide other stuff to get to your item

For ceilings, often best to look "up" with camera inside a room in 3D...
but for joists/framing, it is a "view" only (not frame object selectable)...use non-framing view and delete the ceiling/floor/wall/what ever is appropriate/, associated with the "framing" you want to delete.

If still a problem, suggest you post the .bld file and others here may be able to help better...tells us what you want to do, what you tried, what seems broke, etc  Maybe add a .jpg view and point to desired change or what seems wrong.
