Allan & Jack, you will no doubt be able to help. I completed a two storey dwelling in TFP. I selected the building location and then file / export/ 2 d drawing in TFP and saved the file. I opened the file in TC using "extract from" and the file opened. The only problem was that all the locations were showing and not just the location I selected. Is there a way to export building locations separately so the individual floors can be easily edited in TC

Hi Bob,

You will kick yourself when you hear this - just use the View Filter to turn off all floors except the one you want.

Allan, I bet this made your day, many thanks.

Hi Bob,

I think you know but for those who do not, I've made training  videos that cover the process of using your 3D TFPlan model to created 2D Layouts in TCAD.

At $20 the cost for the whole set of videos is almost less than the cost required in time for you to ask your question, get it answered and respond.

In addition to learning the process of transfering dxf files from TFPlan to TCAD, I actually make a whole home and show many TFPlan techniques but you also get a TCAD 'Template' , predefined which takes your 2D work to Paper Space for printing (including a 'live' fill in the blanks) Title Block on each Paper Space.

Jack, I am going to purchase the training video's, as they are a reasonable cost. Can they be down loaded or do you purchase a disc. Living in Australia there will be a shipping cost. Any idea of the charge.

Burgo

Jack, don't reply, I found the information on your web site. Should have looked there in the first place.

Hi Bob,

If you have any problems downloading let me know by email and I'll contact you and can send you a disk. Also feel free to drop me a note on how they are working for you. Metric scale would be something I'd be interested in getting coments on  from an actual metric user.

thanks,

Jack
