Can I create my own personal 'Project Catalog'?

TFP catalogs are impressive (although you always want to use that one single option that is NOT in the catalog and not easy to edit of create or import). But the overwhelming list of options has also an annoying side: endless clicking and scrolling.
Is there a way to create a concise category for a specific project I am working on?

I mean: I do not need 519 doors when I only use 4 different types in my project. And not 13859 paint colors if I only use 8.
Can catalog items be 'checked' so that they will appear in a sort of shortlist, 'My Project Catalog'? Or copied/dragged to such list?
Or any other option to temporary reduce the clicking-and-scrolling-and-clicking?

No problem - right click in the Catalogue and select Elements Manager.

Add a new Group in Doors for example (My Doors) then move the doors you use into the My Doors Group.
Move the My Doors group up to the top of the Doors group and it will open at the top when you click on Doors.
In Elements Manager you can also delete things you do not want - but bear in mind you may want them later.  Making your own group in each section is a better way to go.

Already a big step forward.
But there is no way to create ONE group containing all my 'favorites': My Doors, My Walls, My Paints, My Floors?

No there isn't. The different things (Walls, Roof, Ceiling etc) all have common charcteristics and they obtain those from the section of the catalogue where they reside. You can import a light for example into other parts of the catalogue, but it will not light up unless it is in the Lighting section.

Yes, in the meantime I found out that each element has to reside in its specific main group. Clear.
