Shortcut to Drawing Settings

Would anyone else be interested in a shortcut to the Drawing Settings page?

Frequently, I need to move objects that can't be moved freely due to collisions with other objects and have to nudge them into place.  Sometimes the nudge needs to be a quarter of an inch and sometimes 10 or more feet.  I've been changing the nudge distance factor in the Drawing Settings page but find that there are many annoying mouse clicks in the way.  I was going to suggest that the standard right click menu have a choice that would take one directly to the Drawing Settings screen, or, better yet, directly to a nudge factor setting.

Am I the only one who sees this need?  Is it because I don't know how to move objects that collide the 'correct' way (other than nudging)?

Sounds perfectly sensible to me.  A listing of available shortcuts that can be placed on the keyboard would help too.

What would probably would be better would be to have another tool bar for tools like nudge settings, tape measure, paint brush and dropper, hardware acceleration etc.

I presume you know that you can turn off Collision Detection on the Status bar? That makes it very easy to move things around and into each other if necessary.

It's just that I don't have the experience to be able to think as deeply about the issues . . .  yet.

The additional toolbar would be welcome, and I like the items you suggested for its contents.

I like toolbars, preferably with icons big enough to recognise...

I had six feet of them around the edges of my TurboCAD screens.

That said, I also used drop-down menus for convenience and, um, disambiguation...

Agreed Nik, makes me very grateful for muti-monitor setups.  As productive as a blind mouse without them.

I'll add this toolbar request to the Feature Requests list, in case it gets missed here.

On desktop I have dual monitors and would not be without ever again....I keep tools on right screen and image on left screen.

Having said that, you can do this trick too....

You can leave the "settings" window open all the time...you don't have to close it to have changes in effect.

Since it is a large window its wasteful real estate to leave it open....unless you drag it off to the side out of the way...you can keep it mostly off screen if needed....but then drag vs. click to open is perhaps same except its easier to find the already open window.

Or you can open "settings" with a few keyboard clicks  (alt+s+s)....I posted this keystrokes clicks reminder list before...
