how do i tell turbo 12 that on some parts of the roof- NO eaves!

Still another alternative is to move the roof to another location, then it will not be affected at all unless you go to that location. This is probably where it should really have been in the first place.

well of course i tried the view roof thingy but of course it does not know a 3ds thing is a roof.
that elevation idea sounds great.

When you import a 3DS you have to nominate a section where you will save it. It is that section you must set to to be unselectable because it was obviously not saved into the roof section. If you did not tell it where to locate it then it is probably under Appliances as thst lists first I think.

In your model you already have a location called Roof 2 I think it was. If you just select the 3DS roof, right click and choose Duplicate to Location and choose Roof 2, it will copy it there and you can just delete the original. It is then on its own location. It should keep the elevation but if not you may have to adjust that again but at least you only have to do it once not every time you want it out of the way.
