Good day.
I have reinstalled my O.S. to Windows XP, after fighting with Windows 7.  I have also reverted back to my older TurboFLOORPLAN pro. I am having trouble doing the "Advanced Rendering".    When I try to render, no matter what level, the systems Hangs and shows "not responding" for about 1 minute before it activates.
What am I doing wrong.  Do I have to reset a parameter??  I have also tried a trial version of the TFP v16 with the same problem.

Cheers, maybe I am just a thick old kiwi

Hi Adrian,

Welcome to the forum!

It is quite normal for it to say 'not responding' during the initial stage of Advanced rendering and even some other processes, while the program collects all that it needs for the process. The length of time too can vary and if you have the quality level high and the image size big, then it can take a long time - even hours if you have an older PC.

The question is, what happens when it does 'activate'? Do you let it complete the process or are you aborting it thinking that it is 'not responding'? (which incidentally is what Windows thinks not what the program knows is happening!

I would suggest you set the quality to no higher than 3 and image size to no higher than 640X480 or even half that, have nothing else running on the PC and give it time to complete the render.

Let us know how it goes.

And do you have h/w acceleration on or off? (set in TFP) Try both ways.

What are your computer specs? If your computer doesn't have a 'good' dedicated graphics card, your not going to get good results.

You don't say what you are rendering.

If you are rendering Advanced 'Inteior View' , turn off your Sun.
If you are rendering Exterior , don't use Advanced use Basic.
