Hi guys,

Happy New Year to all.  I wanted a picture of myself riding my bike, but the difficulties of doing it safely prohibited it, so  I had the idea of taking a stationary photo and using CAD to draw the background.  So while this isn't strictly a CAD drawing, it does demonstrate how we can use TFP in other ways.

The background is a house and some trees, with the standard "mountain" background, then rendered in greyscale and blurred in Photoshop.  I put three layers of the bike photo above the background, blurring each, off-setting them and making each one progressively more transparent to give the illusion of movement.

I like the result.  What do you think?

Hi Garry,

I think the result is excellent - certainly gives the illusion of speed and much safer!
Looks like it would make a good poster!

Really nice Garry.

About the only thing that seems out of place is the 'road' is just too perfect. It has no texture and no blurring.

Other than that , you've done a great job.

Hi Jack,
While it does appear that the road is a separate entity, it is in fact part of the original render (see the picture below) and it was textured with "concrete", but when it blurred it appeared to go smoother and clearer than before!
