      Hi everybody :

                                I put together a video of my latest project.  Hope it's not too big for You Tube.  Question :  How do I add the link (to the video) in a Post.  So you guys can see it .  It's a little bigger than the size requirement for TFP.

Hi Garystan,

To post a link to another website just copy the link from the website (or YouTube), paste it in your comments where you want it, hightight the whole link that you just pasted with your mouse and then click the icon in the image below. It will put some code in square brackets [] at each end of your link and it will then work ones you make it live. You can use the comment Preview button to try it out before you post it to make sure it works.

      Allan :

                     Thanks.  I'll try that.

You could also post the link 'as is'. The Forum software will make it a live link.
If you use the Hyperlink tool that Allan recommended, you could set it up as seen below;
add an equal sign after "url", then the link, then place whatever text you want between the square brackets.

    John R  :

                      Thanks for the tip.    No offense.....but it sounds a little complicated.  What if I had two instances of   IE open.   One page would contain the "Video URL",  and the other would be the TFP Forum page (where I'd be pasting the link).    On the You Tube page, I would right click the  Video URL , click COPY.   Then on the TFP page (where my post is,  I would click on PASTE where I want the VIDEO URL to be inserted.  That should work.....shouldn't it ?      I tried that method the other day, when I (practiced ) sent my sister, via e-mail,  the "Link", and she picked it up right  away.   Please excuse my  persistence.   I leaning how to do this .
Thanks,

re: ...but it sounds a little complicated...

All I did was give you 2 choices.

Inserting a copied link is the simplest way. Some people like the second option and just have a name/title appear.

As Allan mentioned above, click on the "Preview" button, then on your link in the Preview. It should open the link a new tab or window for you. If everything works okay, then "Post".
