I just purchased TFP Pro 17. Does anyone know how to make a trey ceiling? I checked the tutorials and the Help PDF and did not see anything there.

Thanks,
Al

Hi Al,

The floor tool (Floor tab) can be used to create a variety of elements like columns, ceilings, etc.
In this case, you can use it to create the tray of the ceiling. Select the floor tool (outlined in red in the image attached) and draw the tray using the desired dimensions and thickness => set the desired elevation (outlined in red in the image attached) => color or texture as necessary.
In the live view image, I painted the tray with green color and the default ceiling with brown color
In addition, if you prefer, you can create a tray ceiling as object using the 3D Custom Workshop Power Tool

Hi Patricia,

Thank you for the detailed answer. I'll try it out.
I am fairly new to this. It just seems strange to use the Floor tool to make a trey ceiling. But it looks like it works in your picture. Thanks again.

Hi Al,

You're welcome!  :)

Not so strange: as a matter of fact, a ceiling is a floor with a different elevation.
The floor tool creates prisms, so depending of the shapes, textures, elevations you can use this tool to create floors (of course) , steps, columns, beams, etc.
