Odd Behavior of Dimensions

While adding dimensions and other drafting items to my floorplan in 2D mode, I have encountered some unusual behavior.  Whenever I try to move a dimension line, it jumps to the center of my drawing and can only be moved back by using the align function.  I have tried repairing the project, opening and closing the file, restarting the program, etc.  The problem always comes back.  However, it does not exist when I open older revisions of the same project.  Any thoughts?

Hi and welcome to the forum,

I have not seen this behaviour before and since it does not occur in previous versions of the model, it obviously indicates that something added later has presumably caused a corruption of some sort that is triggering this.

Doing a Repair does not always fix problems and since most corruptions involve walls, usually where wall intersections have been "played with" a few times, I would be looking there first. There is no logical reason why this should affect dimension lines but poor wall joints have caused all sorts of odd issues in the past so nothing would surprise me.

Zoom in very close on wall intersections, drag the mouse over the join so all the wall lines are highlighted and look for stray bits of wall or odd triangular shapes within the join area. If you find these, redo the join completely.

Let us know how it goes.

If you do not find anything, you could post the file here so we can look at it or you can email it to me if you prefer. (alches AT iinet DOT net DOT au)
