Exporting file for 3d visualization in like Lumion 3D

I have V17 of TFP and I have build a house in TFP.

Now I want to get this house into a really good 3D visualization program, like Lumion 3D.

I have tried to export as DFX and DWG files, but it does not work.

I have tried to open the DFX file in SKetchup and then export to both collada and 3ds.
But in sketchup my building just gets like 2d lines, not a 3d model.

Also when I open the 3ds or collada file in Lumion it also is just some 2d lines on the gound, not a 3d model.

It only exports the actually floorplan, not the landscaping, the lower floor, roof anything like that. Just the floorplan.

I also triend at my friend that has TurboCad pro 21.1 and ther it also is only 2D floorplan, no 3D modell at all.

I am a beginner at this, but I really need to learn what I am doing wrong here.

What am I doing wrong?

By default, the TFP V17 and 2015 programs don't export the models as 3D solids.

There are some programs (not related with TFP or Imsi) that capture the polygons of the *.PRO file, with volumes and colors and export them as WRL format. For example, I do the conversion (not an easy process) using a program that I bought a couple of years ago in France called "Rhapsodie".

Ok, but I read here in this forum about people that exported a house from TFP as DFX or DWG and then opened the file in like sketchup and then saved it as 3ds, to be able to do 3d vizualisation in Lumion or in Max.

I mean I do want to be able to add texture and color later in the 3D vizualisation program.

But when I like the above, all I get in my exported file is on of the floorplans. Thats it.
No roof, no 3d.

Have I maybe done something wrong in TFP, so the exported file dont has then info about elevation or something.

Can you maybe take a look at both the .pro file and the DFX file?

I really like working in TFP, so I would want to stay with that program, but need better photo realistic 3D vizualisation.

Just to be clear: as I stated, the TFP V17 and 2015 programs don't export the *.PRO models as 3D solids within the program.
The DWG / DXF export capabilities are for the floor plans only.

Versions V16 and previous versions (currently discontinued) did export as 3D solids, so perhaps you read an old post talking about a different version? Feel free to post a link the post that you saw, but first, verify if the post is located in the "General Category - V.16 and Earlier" section or the "General Category - V.17 & 2015" section, so you will know the program version.

This is correct TFP does not support exporting solids. However there are more extensive rendering capabilities inTurboCAD which can use surfaces from a dxf/dwg.

Just some info on this subject,
I have TFP Deluxe on my Mac, it just has DXF/DWG export.
I also have PUNCH!* Interior designer V17.5 on my old laptop, it has VRML
(Virtual Reality Modeling Language) export which can be opened as a 3D model with Turbocad Pro Windows version.
Once exported as VRML, opened with TC Pro and saved as a 3DS, I was able to open my model in Carrara 8.

Hi Darren,

You are correct regarding some concepts. But few concepts are not accurate.
Punch is not the parent software company. Punch developed different programs and they license a  few programs to different companies.

Although you can open your TFP file  with a Punch Interior Designer V17.5 program (discontinued), the process that you mention has few limitations, starting with the fact that textures and colors are not exported.

Just wanted to let people now of a way that I found to get a 3D model out of a similar program.
I'm using Punch! Interior Design Suite 17.7. I had said Designer.

Hopefully they will add a 3D export feature in the future. I know its been suggested.
