Having Problem with TFP Locking Up

I've suddenly started having a problem with the file of my pentagon structure.  I can load the file and perform one operation (delete a door), but when I select a short wall that I want to delete and hit the delete key, it locks up just showing the hourglass for hours.  I can whack the big white X to close the program but I have to do that and click the "End Now" button multiple times before the program ends.  I can't even get into Task Manager by clickng CTL-ALT-DEL.

I have sometimes (but not every time) seen a strange looking thing pop up in the system tray when this happens.  It shows an icon similar to the Grisoft AVG AV icon but instead of squares of color it shows triangles in the same colors and displays hrndva-hotlib.mail.rr.com which looks like a mail server address.  This smacks of being a spyware product or a virus but my SpyDoctor and AV - both currently updated - fail to identify it.  It is entirely possible that this display is totally unrelated to the problem in TFP, too.

I've tried to recall what I was last doing in the drawing and cannot.  I recall saving the light fixtures that Allan C. and I were discussing from his drawing to my catalog and then placing them in my drawing (not nominating those fixtures, Allan; just trying to convey as much information as I can), but I can't recall what I've done since then.

Does anything sound familiar to anyone?  Are there any repair processes that can be run against the file?

There is a Repair Project function on the File menu.  I have not had to use it and so cannot comment on what it does or when it works.

It sounds a bit like a corrupt somewhere, usually walls.  I doubt that the lights or systray are related.  You said you wanted to delete one - did you suspect it for some reason?  Rather than click it, try draging over it - it will highlight in blue rather than green.  Then delete.

Can you start a new project (or previous project) without any problems?  If so then it is the file that is corrupt and hopefully the repair will fix it.

Try opening it and without doing anything else, save it with a new name. The save may detect the corruption.

I presume you have previous copies.  At least you can download your original one if necessary from your previous post.

The File/RepairProject worked beautifully.  For some reason, I was overlooking that in the menu. 

Never did figure out what the corrupted element was, but it said that the repair was done and I've had no further troubles.

I do save a new version every hour or so now, though.
