dimension in 3d custom workshop

the 3d custom workshop tool seems to cool buts how do you measure a distance to know how far apart things are or where they are in relationship to each other

Hi there,

There is not a formal "dimension tool" in the 3DCW PT. But there are several resources that you can use
1 - you can use lines or shapes to measure distances => select the element => resize object will provide the distance. You can delete it after.
2 - If you are creating several objects  => use edit => Duplicate => Duplicate Properties to duplicate and set the distance between the objects.
3 - You can use Edit => Move => to set the exact distance when you move an object.
4 - You can set and use the grid .

thanks for the info on a workaround

my grid always shows 1" on the plan view even if i change the grid options

is this always the case - 2017 pro

Thank you for the feedback.

To change the grid, you need to set also the snap to grid. As they work together, they must share the dims (see attached)
