Hi, just wondering if i can select a wall type for brick veneer as an all in one wall. ie 110mm brick, 40mm cavity and 70mm timber frame all in one wall type? I've created a 70mm wall and then placed a 110mm wall 40mm away from it but it plays up with the estimating tools.
Cheers.

Hi there,

This is how the walls' definitions work => draw the wall with the full thickness (in your case 110 mm + 40 mm + 70 mm= 220 mm) => right click on the wall => Framing Properties => define the structural material, insulation, etc.
Then, add the textures for the interior and exterior materials.
These settings will appear in the Bill of Materials (Estimating tool) as the different layers of the wall.
Hope this helps!  :)

Thanks Patricia,  if I use one solid wall at 220mm, I'm unsure how it correctly accounts for both the brick and the timber frame as the wall is essentially two different material types all together.

Hi there,

I' d suggest that you set an example and see the results.

Although the walls look solid, if you specify the materials correctly, the Estimator creates a correct Bill of Materials. In the image attached. you can see a screenshot of the Estimator, showing the different materials, insulation, and finishing for the walls (outlined in red).
