When I need to put different floor tiles on a floor in a bathroom for example, I make a "room division" in any direction and then I can put different floor tiles in different floor division. In vertical plan, this room division works also for walls. What can I do to divide a wall in horizontal plan for skirting or other decors?

In wall properties you can specify a wainscot, chair rail, or crown molding. These can be moved and edited to get many different results.

The Wainscott method is the proper way to do this but if it is just a square of tiles on a wall then you can also just use a 'Box' sized to the area and thickness and place that against the wall with a tile texture on it.

You can add a Box to use for this (or many other purposes!) by going to the Accessories, right click in the Groups and Add a new group (eg Custome Objects), then right click in the bottom section and select Add Element.  From the top radio button group (Parametric Template) select 3D Shapes and you can add the Box and other shapes you need. The Rugs can be used the same way to give more shapes (not only rugs!)  Add them all, so you can use them for other purposes in the future.

Once you have the Box just drop it in your room, size to the width and height of your tiled area and very thin, apply the tile texture and move it against the wall - turn off Collision Detection (Status Bar) if necessary, so it is easier to locate it.

You can even use these shapes to make your own furniture and other things. Once you have put all the bits together you can File/Export as a 3DS file and then import it again (bottom Radio button in the same dialog box) and it is then one object you can use in the future. If you put together an object this way remember to turn off the Terrain (Eye icon) before you export otherwise this wil be part of your object.

Ask again if any of this is useful and the description too brief.
