3D color images printing too dark

Hi Pat,

Using TFT-PTO V2022 with PDFelelemt9 pdf program and hp500 printer/ plotter.  When I print out any 3D color image (or color elevation or color aerial or room view) in shaded textured rendering, the prints are coming out too dark or, for lack of a better term, "supersaturated" with ink making the print quite dark.  Floor plans and 2D images are very legible and easy to read.  I have the Print Quality set to 300 dpi in the Printer Set Up menu in the TFP-PRO program. Is this possibly an incorrect setting I have neglected to correct in the TFP-PRO print settings I have failed to change? The hp 500 printer does print almost true color images when using a different program (photo editing).

Hi there,

Although you can change the program settings, rendering quality, etc. I'd suggest that you customize your printer settings.
I am not familiar with HP printers, but anyway, check the Settings in your Windows computer => Printers => Select your printer => Color Management.

Okay, thanks.  Checked into that after reading your reply and there's a lot printer things I know nothing about and don't know who to turn to for help here in our little city.

I thought there might be some settings in the TFP-PRO program that would adjust for too dark images, such as lighting.

Hi there,

Indeed, you can customize the rendering lighting conditions of your project (User Guide - Adding Lighting and Shadows - Page 477), however, keep in mind that printers don't print colors as they look on a monitor, because they are based on different color systems (RBG vs CMYK).
For more information about this issue, search online about "Why Don't Printed Colors Match What I See on the Monitor?". There are lots of websites and notes.

Regarding your HP printer, they have an online Support Community, so you can ask them for help.
