Hardware acceleration and very poor performance

I have a 3.2GhZ P4 with 1GB of ram running XP.  It has an Radeon 800XL video card with 256MB of ram.

TurboFLOORPLAN was running well until I had to install newer ATI video drivers for another application.  Since that time, it is almost impossible to perform edits in 2D space with hardware acceleration turned on; it pegs my processor and takes forever.  This is a serious impediment as viewing anything in the 3D view first involves switching the application preference to enabled, followed by switching it back to disabled when I'm done.

Is there any statement of which versions of which drivers are supported?

Unfortunately lack of support and poor HA performance remains a serious issue and an often requested help with NO response from programmers/developers/resellers so is  a very poor selling point and left to the users to resolve.

Sometimes HA works with some PC setups and other times it does not with no logical reasoning we have ever been able to resolve or get any help on.

Been true for every previous version and true for the parent s/w Envisioneer from CADsoft.com which costs 10x more.

I dont use TFP at the moment as I use a French language product which better suites my needs - 3DArchitecte Arcon 10.

The 3D performance of this product is staggering, I can wizz round models, shoot around inside, spin them around, add furniture, trees, whatever I want and the performance is still ok on a 2/3 year old 2.8 ghz budget AMD processor.

It uses OpenGL and works fine, so it is possible.

TFP12 HA using OpenGL does work on some/many? (don't know the % good vs. bad) PCs

On my laptop I leave it on all the time and screen redraws are almost too fast....need good mouse control for moving around in 3D views. For rendering speed its mostly CPU capability so HA has little to no impact.

On my desktop HA works just fine and fast for design and viewing but I must turn it off for any renders as my mouse cursor gets hung up otherwise.

So HA does work but not always on all PCs and it seems to be video card/driver related.
