Project Pricing.

I am having a hard time with my Project Estimate.

Ok so to flesh this out some. I am in the process of adding on to my current home.

I first designed what my current home looks like, since our addition ties into and I wanted to see how the roof and all would look, plus I will have to make a hallway and add a wall and such.

This was great untill I decided to do a Project Estimate and notice that I had to set locations in order to break the prices down per location.

Now what I thought I would do is remove all EXCEPT the addition and that way I would get a more true cost of what the addition will run me.

So I resaved my document to a new name and deleted all the original house so that just my addition was left standing.

Then I was going to proceed to the internet and get prices for brick and for drywall and such and plug in the numbers.

Now what I am finding is that it seems that I have to select each wall or item in my drawing, get the properties of the object and tell it what price to be.

Is there a way to plug the prices in elsewhere and make it easier?

Like for example: the exterior brick wall contains brick, mortor, studs, insulation and sheetrock, how will I figure that in?
If I click exterior wall (6" brick wall), its set to framed, and on the Quantity tab for price, how will I figure in all that pricing?

Im confused on what to do to get as close to accurate as possible on my Project Estimate.

Ideally that should be done first and you must make sure you are using the correct Basic Type. For example, if you want a solid wall without framing you need to use Foundation Walls.

You can change all items that are the same by Shift Clicking on each, then select properties, or change the master element and choose Replace.

You should also be able to export as Excel and then do the changes there.
