I have created this thread as a place for us to post COMPLETED FINAL IMAGES that have been produced using Advanced Rendering and are good examples of what TurboFLOORPLAN can do.

If you have questions on Advanced rendering then use the "Looking for Help" section.

Advanced Radiosity rendering uses reflected light from outside (through doors and windows) and from interior lights.  It replicates the way light bounces off light objects and is absorbed into dark ones to create a natural image.  The Radiosity step is followed by a Raytrace step that finalises shadows and reflections in mirrors and shiny surfaces.  The image can take a long time to produce depending on the Quality setting (3 is minimum for ALL lights to show), the number of lights, speed of PC processor and complexity of the model.  Many minutes to hours is not unusual. It is saved as a BMP image. (The JPG options does not work at present)

To create images using Advanced Radiosity Rendering, go to the View Menu and select Render 3D Real View and click the Advanced tab.

Ideally images should be converted to JPG before posting, as they use much less memory.
800 x 600 is probably as good size as they are easily visible within the forum without scrolling.

Maybe just a brief description of the image and any special technique used would be helpful to others who would like to do something similar.

Just to get the thread started I will repost this image.

It was specifically created to test the effects of:

  • Sun shining into a room
  • Transparency of the Lampshade (texture Transparency setting)
  • Visibility of the light bulbs in the pendant fitting (texture Emmissive setting
  • The wattage of the bulbs (The name gives some indication of the settings)
