Ciao from Italy!
I'm struggling a bit.  Any help would be appreciated.  I am new to this program and am stuck.  I've searched the site with no luck.  I'm designing a mansarda, which is an attic space in an old building.  It is directly under the roof.  It is a long open space with a hip roof at one end and a gable at the other.  The roof slopes down to the floor from a center beam of 3 meters.  In other words, you cannot stand at three of the four perimeters (although it is usable space for storage, etc).  I've laid out the floor plan with three walls at 10 cm height.  The fourth wall is the gable end at 2.4m height with an entry door.  When I insert the roof and adjust for the gable & hip, the roof floats above the room.  I've tried to adjust the slope, overhang etc.  I'm obviously missing something.  I'm seriously in need of some direction.

While I get a pretty good idea of what you are doing and want, I don't really understand the problem.

Best if you would post the .bld file here and let others look and work on it to find a problem and/or return a solution.....as pictures are worth 1000 words

Doug, grazie.
I will post the .bld file when I'm a bit farther along.  The space is essentially like the top floor of a hip/gable A-frame  (with the addition of 4 dormers).

David,

Without the file it is a bit difficult to be sure but could the problem be in the Location settings for your second floor.  You said your walls are 10cm -  that has to be the setting for the wall height of the second floor Location and the bottom edge of the roof will then sit on the 10cm wall.  Even though the wall is 10cm (even interior walls) they will automatically extend to the roof so you can still insert doors etc.

If your Location has the walls at 2.4 then that is where the roof will sit so it will 'float' over the building. The roof always sits at wall height of the Location regardless of how high you make the walls.

Ciao, Allen!
Bravo.  You hit it.  It was all about the location settings.  I'm so pleased.  Grazie for your help.
