Inserting adjoining windows

I have a long picture window - 4.5m x 2.1m. I'm trying to build it up from four seperate windows as it has two vents, one fixed and one door. It all goes together ok, I can nudge them together so that they touch. However, when viewed in 3D there is a wafer-thin section of wall between the frames. Any workround or solution would be most helpful. I could draw the frame in TurboCAD but that seems to defeat the object of Floorplan.

You could insert a small, thin, sized, object (such as a pillar, re-sized and elevated) to fill the gap....be sure to turn collision off to get it into place and set materials to match.

Zoom in close to get pin point accuracy.

I have attached a jpeg picture of what I want to do and have highlighted the problem in red.
I have placed the windows with 0mm gap between.
I have managed a workaround which isn't really satisfactory, which involves building a wall with 0mm height then a short section of wall at each end followed by another low wall placed on top of the window. while this looks ok from outside, it is proving difficult to ge the inside decoration to match. Also, it is a lot of work to achieve something which should be quite simple. It's a great program though, a lot of fun and educational too. I hope to be able to use it with my building students.

A few thoughts and suggestions.

If the wall thickness is not critical then just make it the same thickness as the window, or vice-versa.

If you want to show the window recess then create two new locations the same as the Ground floor. Right click and place a Break in the wall each side of the windows, as close as possible to the window edge, select the window section of the wall, right click and Duplicate to Location (both).  You now have 3 pieces of wall in the same space and all in perfect alignment. Select one of the duplicated locations and set the wall height so it fits UNDER the window.  Select the other location and Right-click / Elevate the wall to the TOP edge of the window.  Now select your original wall and set its thickness to the same as the window frame.  You could add the top and bottom bits of wall that fill in the step in the wall at the Break points by using a rectangular shape but it can be difficult to get it to align  and even render correctly.

If you put a solid wall right through on the second location, with the thought of putting an opening in the second wall for the window in the other wall to be visible it will simply make the hole again for the window and you end up with the same issue on the second location, so a new bit of wall above and below with a thin wall holding the window solves the problem.

There could be other ways too but anyway this may help.

You got me thinking. I have now made three walls, one behind the other. I have inserted a rectangular opening in the front and back walls and the centre wall, which is the same width as the window frames, now holds the windows. This almost works. The outside wall is brick and allows the window to be set back from the face. The inside wall is decorated to taste. One problem remains! I can get the outside wall within a couple of mm of the window wall and the inside wall to within 20mm. Any closer and the openings just disappear. Still open to suggestions.

I found t did not work to use an opening in the secondary walls. I think you may have to shorten and raise the two walls as mentioned before. It sounds messy but quite easy to do.
