Hi there

I would very much like to set the length of my walls before drawing them, can I do that. Also in the UK we have cavity walls can I draw them too ? I find it difficult to draw the right length.

TFP operates by dragging a wall to a length.....if you have the "commander" set to "on" in the program settings, there will be a numerical data entry window in which you can set length and angle on the fly as you draw (hit tab key or click in the entry field to activate it)...or if the wall is already in place, select the wall, the adjust by numerical data entry....but your results may be different than expected because of the way walls are drawn and which has priority.

UK users have done cavity walls...I think you need to create a new wall in the catalog set to your desired width etc.

For both above, suggest you search for key words in this forum as both have been discussed several times a while back.

Hi Pru,  welcome to the Forum.

Once you get used to it you will find dragging the wall length is much easier and quicker.

Just drag the wall and draw your basic shape watching the dimensions as you go to get it about right, then you can select a wall and click the dimensions to change them. Alternatively you can use the arrow keys to move or lengthen walls in 1mm increments if you want. The default is 25 (1") but you can change the Nudge distance at any time in Settings / Program Settings.

If you really want to type it in from the start then as Doug said use the Commander Bar. (Program Settings / Workspace).
