Displaying Dimensions on elevation views

I need to display and print dimensions on elevation views, any ideas ?

Hi - Welcome to the forum!

It is not possible to put dimensions on the elevations normally but it can be done if you export the elevation, then import it again into a new project.  You can then add dimensions 'automatically' and other text descriptions etc. For full instructions how to do this see this thread http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,877.0.html and the attached PDF file.

Thank you Allan. It does partially work but in R14 C1 637 which I am evaluating at present, the import wizard is different than what is shown in your PDF. I managed to import the elevation drawing but then the dimension tools do not work, only the manual dimensions which is very difficult to use as it does not snap to the drawing... What am I doing wrong ?

Hi again,

Adding the dimensions should be easy if you zoom in close. The automatic dimension don't work as they are for the original plan but the manual one will calculate the distance automatically - all you have to do is align it to your drawing. (Make sure you lock the imported drawing first or it will be very hard). The dimension marker does not snap to the line but you can position it very closely, zoom in extremently closely and drag the little blue arrow at the drawing end so it is exactly over the lines. You should be able to get it right to the mm in precision that way.

I don't understand how the import dialog box is different as I am using the same 637 build.  How was it different?  Maybe you could attach and screen image of it.
