TurboFLOORPLAN and TurboCAD

If you use TurboFLOORPLAN you will find that it lacks 'Paper Spaces'.

TCAD also lacks the abilty to import the .bld file from TFPlan. (maybe in the future it will).

But you can easily export both dxf and 3DS files from TFPlan and then import them to TCAD for working drawings (Pro or Deluxe)

You can export with text and dims and all lines are editable. You can import Elevations as Hidden lines with or without the 'patterns' that are assigned to materials.

Sections import well and you can 'isolate' them to generate items like stair details or kitchen / bath 'elevations'.

Isometric images import and a 3DS ia good but TCAD lacks the ability to import the materials.

TFPlan does export all the material jpgs/bmps along with the model. Maybe, someday, TCAD will be able to put them to use.

Hi Jack,

Thanks for the details on that as the subject comes up from time to time. It is good to know what can and can't be done.

Any 'official' rumours on a patch yet - especially for the rendering issues - some of us are getting desperate!

I hope this makes it to you. If so, can you explain the steps needed to make it work in TCAD. I can export fine but am unsure how to make these things show up in TCAD.. Is there any specifics to do in the export. A simple step-by-step from both programs would be great ...
