directly from within TFP, I don't think so; not like other objects

But if you export it as a .3ds object, then import it back into TFP you may be able to like any other imported object.


Alternatively, you can insert a box/cube object and size it to look like a column on its side etc.  Search this forum for Allan's explanation for where to find 3D shapes such as box/cube, cylinder, etc.

thanks for help doug,  looked in kitchen objects, found a tankard and made the handle transparent, then edited the mug.   worked perfect

You should not have any problem rotating a column. The process is axactly the same as all other elements, just select it, hover over the little triangle until you get the little circle-arrow symbol, click and drag it around.  The triangle can be a little hard to see as the default colour for the column in the plan is the same blue as the triangle.

Silly me, I was answering a different question...assuming he meant rotating 90 degrees so the object was now with the length parallel to the floor....rotation about the horizontal axis rather than about the vertical axis.

Maybe you were right Doug, Rotating a pillar does not make a lot of sense since it would still look the same. Even a square one rotated 90 degrees would be the same - unless it was rectangular or 45 deg.
