Problems with adding electrical outlets and framing views

1.  I have been unable to find a way to show/print a side framing view.  I can print roof and floor, but the only other framing view I can find is the entire home.

2.  Since I played around with adding cabinets in the kitchen, the software will not allow me to place any further electrical outlets or switches close to walls.It wants to drop them a distance from the wall.  This is happening on all walls in the design.

Hi, Welcome to the forum.

I am not quite sure what you mean by a "side framing view".  On the view toolbar there is an Elevations button (or in the menu choose View> Elevations) with standard and custom elevations available.  The next button or menu option, is a Sections view, so you can create a view of cross sections if you want.  Obvioulsy you would have to turn framing on and surfaces off in the View Filter (or View> Framing etc) but any of these would give you a "side framing view", if that is what you mean - or have I missed the point?

The second point is a bit odd. I have tried to replicate it but did not have any problem inserting electric outlets wherever I wanted ,before and after inserting cabinets. I tried nearly every electrical item but everything worked perfectly.  If the problem persists, you could post the BLD file here so we can have a look at it for you.  Maybe something else is corrupt and this is causing the problem.

I found this problem  with electric outlets myself in some ocassions... I solved it by the fast-track, by turning off collision key, zooming in drawing browser and inserting items in their position. it is also convenient go to view filter and "close" locations different then the one in which you are working on, because as I have experienced program presents  some kind of interference when there are other objects in the drawing area, though in different locations.
