How to Import 2D drawing from AutoCAD

I drew my Training centre Floor plan in AutoCAD...Can some one please tell me how can i import that in FloorPlan?

Also its difficult to make wall at an angle!!!..How can i do it easily?

Welcome to the Forum.

If you export your plan from AutoCAD as a 2D DXF file you can import it into TurboFLOORPLAN using File> Import> Object Wizard.  Go to this post http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,877.0.html and you will find a PDF file attached that explains how to export DXF files from TurboFLOORPLAN and import them again.  If you read the section on importing (Page 4), it will give you more details and diagrams.

To use the DXF file as a plan to trace in TFP, first create a new Location with a floor level LOWER than your Ground Floor to hold your DXF file (eg Call it Tracing) then do the import.  Once you have the file imported, you will be able to switch to your Ground Floor location and trace the layout with the TFP wall tools etc.  As long as you set the size correctly in the Import Wizard, it will all be to scale and you can trace your walls easily.

To set walls at an angle you first need to turn off Ortho (on the Status bar at the bottom right or F8). This forces all walls to be only at right angles, usefull to get them exactly right but to get angles you must turn if off and turn Anglesnap on (or F6). You can change the amount of the angle it will snap to (default 15 degrees) by going to Settings> Program Settings> Drawing Aids.
