Hi! I have take a look very realistic rending, you can think that is a real object that they have take a photo of. You cant comper the quality of the rending from there programs, I saw MAYA was mentioned, that is  a ++++$1000 that is not the same level as TFP under $100

Hi John,

My thoughts are the same as Robert. He noticed Maya mentioned. One of the best images I saw used 3D Studio Max, VRay, high dynamic range imaging and Photoshop - probably close to $10,000 for the lot (based on some quick Google searches). At those prices and with the time involved for the maniputation in different programs, I think that TFP does a remarkable job at under $100.

HOWEVER, I also think TFP could come so close that you could hardly tell the difference. TFP will handle the building with no problems but to get similar overall results would mean buying the high quality 3DS cars, trees etc and people and then spending the time for the little details (like leaves on the road etc) that make things look real. If you then want to manipulate the render in Photoshop or similar program, then all sorts of other "realisms" are possible.  It really depends how much you want to spend for the 'add-in' objects and how much time you want to spend manipulating the render.

If you can get good 3DS models then TFP can render them well. As an example, I have attached a render of a free 3DS Porshe (I may have posted it on the forum before somewhere but cant find it now). This car is NOT the same quality as some used in the linked site (but it was free!) and I reckon that TFP has done quite a good job rendering it (and reflecting 3 others) and without any further help from Photoshop or any other program which could have improved some of the uneven panels etc,

Thanks for posting the link - it was interesting to see some of the work of others. They are certainly beautifully done!

I'd like to add a comment....

As I did courses with Autodesk, I am always invited to different (free!!!) workshops.  ;D
Last year, I went to the Revit workshop. Some renderings were fabulous, and I confess, I was impressed. However.... after the rendering presentation, we went to the computer for a hands-on workshop, and at this point my opinion about the program went south
I asked about the intergration between the images and the different elements and I was told that there was not integration, or material schedulle or quaitative definition of the building materials.

So in my opinion, nice imaging is important is you are selling just images, but if you are looking for images + technical info, rendering programs are not a very good idea
To show how this is real --> in the images linked above, check the building inconsistencies --> for example --> in the first image of this page
