Is there any way of changing the TFB file icon used for the BKP backup file at the moment it seems to be the same as the standard BLD file - small point but would save a bit of confusion and help to keep filing tidy.

Does anyone know of a good link for upgrading V14 to V15?

I checked my XP computer and Win7 computer, and in both versions (TFP 14 and TFP 15) --> I see different icons for the bld files and the bkp files --> see attached

Does anyone know of a good link for upgrading V14 to V15?

I'd suggest to check directly with Imsi

However, usually, the upgrade offers are during the weeks after a new release

as with any file in windows you can change the icon to your desired .ico  - - - right click the file, select properties (usually last in drop down list) then follow dialog boxes to click on button to change icon.  If you can't find an icon you like, you can download free icons of many designs from www.

I don't know how to make it the default...you may have to change every file icon manually one at a time....may not be worth the effort.

Yes, and this system was great! However, it is not available in Windows 7   
Now, in order to change the icon you need to work with the Registry

Unfortunately, you can't change the file type icon by right clicking the file in the Window Explorer. However, you can use this procedure to change the icons of the program in your desktop

you can change icon in Win7 the same way....no need to ever go at it in registry.....can't remember exactly how I did it.....but you have to change it once using the system dialog for file properties; then "change icon" shows up every time for every file.

If I saved the instructions I'll post it....if not search the www for how to change icons in win7.....may have been in howtogeek.com  site or similar....I did it last Fall so can't remember exactly....will look in my help/tips/etc.

Think I found it:

1. Right-click the folder you want to change the icon of

2. Select "Open Folder Location"... it's just above "properties"

3. Once you are in the "Folder Location", right-click the folder again that you want to change

4. Select "Properties" at the bottom

5. Select "Customize"... the far right tab

6. the "Change Icon" button is at the bottom

[Note: For the changed icon to show up in the "Library" view also, you may need to close and re-open file explorer]

if this is not it let me know.....seems like you do this once and then the change icon button is more obvious from properties dialog every time as usual in XP or Vista

Nope, you can't change file type icons in this way

I believe you are correct....I'm on my win7 PC now and can change folder icons w/o mod to registry.....but file icons are not readily changeable.

yeah,  you can't change these icons in Win 7
Not sure why MS removed this feature....
