Hi Peter,

Yes - File / Import / Object Wizard.

Before you start, create a Location for your DXF import (or use Foundation if you are not using it as a foundation), make sure you are on that location and then do the import. In the dialog box select a 'group' where you want to 'store' it (eg Equipment - or some other category you are not likely to use) and then you can easily turn it off when needed. Once it is in place, go to the View Filter and tick the little filter icon next to the Equipment (or wherever you located it). This will make the DXF object not selectable so you do not accidentally move it.

So that you can see the walls easily as you draw them, you may want to turn on Solid Fill (that will fill the walls with solid black so it is easy to see against the DXF walls underneath). It needs to be turned on in the Wall Properties (on the 2D parts of the wall properties Appearance tab) and on the Settings menu (Building Aids). The latter can be used to turn the Solid Fill on and off in the whole project (as long as the walls are set on).
