        Hi everybody :

This is the night-time version of   "Park Bridge".     I'm still working on the daytime version.

Hi Gstan,

In the past I've taken a texture and added black lines to it, they would then represent the expansion joints or control joints in a concrete slab.

Looking at your great !!  bridge rendering, I thought it needed some control or expansion joints. So rather than using a doctored texture with lines, I just took a retaining wall, sized it to 4.5"H x 1"W and added the feature to a slab.

Then of course curved a few of them for affect. Works good. I now have an Expansion joint option added to my retaining walls section. A normal wall would work too.

         Jack Zimmer :

Thanks for the tip.   I'll probably have to do some study on that.

Here's an old one GStan, where I used a variety of wall widths all at 3" high. Each time you create and enclosed space with a wall, or a retaining wall, it can generate a floor. So similar to expansion joints, the walls in this case recreated a view of Diamond Head that a client had. It was a design for an inlaid floor at the entry.

Different textures where then assigned to the various floors that the walls created, giving me a sky/ diamond head, land and water. Plus the surrounding wood floors.

You can get very creative :-)

While doing something totally un-related, I ran across these free concrete textures you may find useful
