I am trying to import a bitmap for a siteplan as a trace image. When I go to import it I try to set the size. It does not let me set the size too ~ 600' where I need it. When I immediately set the size to 600' it resets itself back to 40'. If I try to raise it by 100' increments it lets me get to 600' for the height, but then won't let me type the exact size. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Have you found a workaround?

Also is there anyway to import a dxf for tracing?

Thanks,

Dan

Dan,

I have not tried a BMP that size - will try when I get a chance.

You can import a DXF to trace althogh the program does not seem to indicate that you can. What I did was create a new location for it (called it Trace - for obvious reasons!) and I made the base a minus figure. Probably would not have to be it just seemed the right thing to do!

Make sure you are on your Trace location and the import it using the File/Import/Object Wizard. In the wizard select a Category that you may not use much (so you can turn it off if necessary later). In the import process also turn off the 3D, so that, if the DXF file is actually 3D, you only get the 2D version.  It will be on your cursor, so you can just move it into place.  Switch to the Ground Floor layer and trace.
Because it is on its own Location it dims when you select the other Locations.
