Skillion Roof cut into pitched roof

I am trying to cut a skillion roof into a pitched roof as shown in the attached photograph. What is the simplest method of achieving this. Can the pitched roof be modified to create the skillion, or would it be better to create a separate roof of a separate location and then create the skillion.
Any help would be appreciated.

Tho I have never done one you can probably do it either way but merging two roofs in one 3D space with two locations can cause blending visual issues.

A roof can be made with more than one slope such as a barn type style or mansard.  See attached roof types; double or mansard may work for you on the roof slope(s) per your example.  I'd start there.

Thanks Doug, I ended up creating two separate roofs on different locations and got the results I wanted. There is most likely other ways of achieving the same result.

Single roof is best imo.

Simply draw out rectangular roof, then select / right click / break and break the roof where the second one starts.
Now select just the arrow of that new section of roof, right click and under "Move Edge" select 'Adjust Support Height'. This will allow the fascia to be lower as you drag that portion of roof out.

Well done Burgo, when you posted this dilemma I went away and had a go at it without any luck...good result...and thanks Jack for your method...I didn't realise we could split a roof that way before ...new skill learnt!

Hi Bob,

I would use the same method a Jack - much easier.

If you want the roof slighly higher to match the original and your example, make the two Breaks and use the right click Move/'Adjust support height' as Jack described, then change the pitch as required and adjust the Support Height slightly higher in Properties, at the same time changing the sides of the 'extension' to Gable. This will lift this section so it cuts into the main roof.

Thanks Jack & Allan, I thought there would be a simpler way. There are many work a rounds in TFP and it is a matter of learning the best method.
